Public Transportation

I have been riding public transportation now for 3 months and I must say it is very interesting. I have always drove to work because I lived in the city and often worked in the suburbs. I get to see all types of characters each day and some of them I get to see everyday. I can not believe the number of people who are talking loudly on the cellphones at 7:00 AM in the morning. Do they really think everyone on the trains wants to hear their conversation? I also like the ones who put their bags in the seat so that no one can sit next to them. The most interesting person I seen on the train so far was a guy who got on the train and was walking and talking as if he was a lady. "Hey girl, I just came from my baby's daddy house." "Are you coming to my wedding? "Girl ,because we are wearing lavender."  "Why didn't you come to by baby shower?" "Why are all these people on the train looking at me crazy?" I believe he wanted the attention, why else would he get on the train talking so everyone could hear him. I wonder who and what will I see next week? I must stay these characters keep me entertained on my way to and from work.

  1. I completely understand. I rode the bus for about five years and while it was very entertaining I couldn't wait to be in my car. I never understood how people were able to fall asleep on public transportation. And somehow I felt like I always attracted the weirdest people. There would be a bus full of empty seats but the one crazy would decide to seat next to me. I am ashamed to say how many times I got off a stop that wasn't mine, just to catch the next bus. I started taking the bus at the age of twelve. I have a ten year old now and can't imagine putting her that close to so many weirdos!

  2. I give you a lot of credit for deciding to take public transportation as I don't think of it fondly.

I took public transportation for the longest. It started with me going to the mall, then it went on throughout four years of high school and it finally ended my first year of college.

There is so many weirdos out there. Like you said, people that are loud and obnoxious, behaving as if they own the bus. There are the ones who talk to themselves, the ones with unpleasant odors, and the ones who put their bags on the seats next to them.

But it's not those people that made me give up public transportation. It was the people who felt the need to use the bathroom on the train, do inappropriate things to themselves, and the people who felt the need to touch you when the bus was crowded. Grr,it still makes me mad when I think about it.

Its a crazy world out there, and if I can avoid all the insanities that it carries then I sure will. That was it for me and public transportation. Hopefully all the characters you come in contact with are nothing like the ones I did.
